Gingerbread men recipe

As I told you last week, I’ve been thinking about desserts for Christmas dinner.
The dessert from last week was definitely the best, but this cookies are delish as well.

You’ll need:

225g butter, softened

1 ½ dark brown sugar

1 Egg

3 cups of flour

1 1/2 tbs orange zest

1 tbs orange juice

1 tsp baking powder

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground ginger

½  tsp ground cloves

½ tsp salt

3. Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, ground cloves and salt and mix well. ( oeps, I forgot to take this picture)

4. Wrap the dough in plastic and let it chill in the fridge for as long as posible. If you can’t wait that long, wait at least 2 hours for the best results.

5. Preheat the oven to 190 C. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness between .5 and 1 cm.

6. Use a fun cookie cutter. Since we are making gingerbread men I used this one.

7. Place the cookies 1 to 2 centimeters apart on the baking sheets.

8. Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven until they seem firm and lightly toasted on the edges.

I chose to decorate them with melted chocolate and they taste so good…

Until the next time… Cheers!
