Mango Pie Recipe

I’m a big fan of NESTLE recipes. My grandmother has a big old book with all kind of recipes using NESTLE products. The most popular ingredients I prefer are condensed and evaporated milk. The simplest way to explain this two is: Evaporated milk is milk with ±60% less of water. Condensed milk is milk with ±60% less of water and with added sugar. ;)

Mangoes were on sale so I took advantage of it.

For this recipe you will need:

1 can Condensed milk 1 can Evaporated milk
1 brick of Cream Cheese Gelatin (unflavored)*
225 gr. Marie biscuits (crumbled) 100 gr. Butter
2 medium size mangoes
                 *Enough for approx. 800 gr of pie

1. Crush the biscuits to a fine texture. Pour the melted butter over the crumbs and toss it with your fingers. Press into the bottom of the springform pan and chill until firm.

2. Blend  the cream cheese, condensed & evaporated milk and the mangoes until the contents have liquefied.
mix it3. Add the gelatin to the mix.

To give consistency to the pie, I used gelatin (unflavored). Because each country has its own brands, I won’t show you how I prepared mine. You’ll have to follow the instructions from the gelatin you got. (If you are a vegan, you can substitute the gelatin with agar agar)

4. Pour the mixing into the pie crust and let it set in the refrigerator for at least a couple of hours.

5. After a couple of hours, the pie has set and it’s ready to be eaten!!

6. Slice the mango pie gently with a knife and serve it.
